8 women in business to watch in 2016 – part 1 #mejane

Nadine Nicholson - Wednesday, December 09, 2015

I get inspired by inspiring women, especially when they are entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs and especially those who stand strongly in being themselves.

There are so many women like this in my life. I could write a blog article every day and easily fill the entire year.

We’ll start with eight. I’ll share four today and four more on December 31.

All are inspiring to me and getting to know them behind the scenes, I know they all walk their talk.

They’re all doing their “work”, walking the ridge of fear and abundance, and expanding themselves and their businesses.

Simply put, they are the real deal.  Read More

The inside scoop: how I organize my time to take 4 months off in 2016 #mejane

Nadine Nicholson - Wednesday, November 18, 2015

Do you think you need to work harder or make more money in order to justify taking time off?

Is it time to figure out how to take time off in your business to do things you love – and not feel guilty about it?

Many women in business worry that in order to really grow their business, they need to work harder and longer hours – and question whether time off and vacation is even possible.

I can tell you the opposite is true.

I love helping my clients create their own customized time blueprint. We map out their year, month and week so they know what their year looks like before it even starts.

You can CHOOSE how much time you want with your family and how to organize your time to accommodate that.

You can DECIDE how it’s going to be. Just because you’re going to grow your business does NOT mean you’ll need to have less time with your family. Read More

What are your desires? #mejane

Nadine Nicholson - Wednesday, October 21, 2015

Ahh, the power of desire.

A strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen.

Recently, I remembered how important the power of desire is to all of us – how important it is to humankind.

Someone recently asked me this question that stopped me in my tracks, a question that I haven’t reflected on for a long time.

“Nadine, what are your greatest desires?”

Then she said, “I’m not asking for just what you want. I’m asking for the feelings and desires you want to OWN.”

You bet I’ll answer that, I said. Read More

What to do when you have a dark night of the soul #mejane

Nadine Nicholson - Tuesday, October 06, 2015

Have you ever had a dark night of the soul – a time when faced with a heart-wrenching, gut-wrenching decision that you knew would change the course of your life?

Although it was clear you were at a fork in the road and could go left or right, is it true you had no idea which way to go?

And, maybe just maybe, you felt your ego and true self go head to head in a massive battle the size of Texas?

This recently happened to me and I know there’s a nugget of learning for you. And, so I share.

Here’s the situation.

How to stay motivated: 3 actions that really work #mejane

Nadine Nicholson - Wednesday, September 23, 2015

Ever have one of those days when it’s hard to stay motivated?

You know that feeling when you sit down at your desk and aren’t sure what to do next?

Nothing seems to be going in the right direction and soon enough you’re ready to put your hands in the air and give up?

About a month ago, I had one of those days. Everything seemed to go wrong. It was like a vicious circle.

I had a hard time sleeping the night before and woke up tired. Being tired fed my lack of patience with my son that morning. I took him to school and hardly said a word. Then, after getting back home, I sat down at my desk and felt completely unmotivated. All I could think about was wishing I had a better morning with him.  Read More

3 steps to break through the comparison trap #mejane

Nadine Nicholson - Thursday, August 27, 2015

At one time in my life I got caught up in the success “rat race” of trying to keep up with everyone else.

And it came at a pretty high cost.

Before starting my own company, MeJane, I was the Communications Manager for a large municipal government. I led upwards of 100 communications and marketing professionals and oversaw communication plans that impacted over a million people.

I was moving from accomplishment to accomplishment, without really taking stock of the cost to my health, family, marriage, and freedom to choose how I spent my time.

With the birth of my son and the death of my dad, I realized that although I looked successful – working 60 hour weeks, driving a BMW, making well over six figures, and publicly recognized for top performance – the truth was, I was living someone else’s idea of success.

Like many people who are focused and results-driven, I realized I had a choice to make.  Read More

How perfectionism + procrastination play against you #mejane

Nadine Nicholson - Wednesday, August 05, 2015

Have you ever been really excited about a project — and then, in no time at all, you feel scared and don’t know where to start?

Ever go to a big conference or networking event — and then find yourself stuck in overwhelm, keeping to yourself and alone?

Ever found yourself sitting at your desk feeling alone and isolated, even though you have big goals and big dreams waiting to come true.

In other words, have you ever felt PARALYZED in your business and not sure what to do next? Read More

Success is not what you have been led to believe #mejane

Nadine Nicholson - Wednesday, July 22, 2015

Most of us work really hard to grow ourselves and our businesses—and experience "success."

We put in the effort and do the work. We put ourselves out there. We try to stay positive. We take risks. We do our best to learn what we need to learn to grow.

But have you ever stopped to think what “success” actually means to you?

Most of us have been conditioned throughout our lives to see success as achieving the next thing and next thing after that—often intricately connected to power, status and money.

At one time in my life, I was there too. About 10 years ago while still in the corporate world, my definition of success revolved around my job title, salary, annual bonus, how many people I led, how big of a budget I was responsible for, and even the kind of car I drove.  Read More

How this one practice leads to more consistent cash flow #mejane

Nadine Nicholson - Wednesday, July 08, 2015

A few weeks ago, one of my friends asked me this question:

“Nadine, what’s one thing you wished you did a lot earlier in your business?”

It stumped me at first, mostly because there’s very little I would have done differently.

I know every up and down has been a learning opportunity and makes me more equipped to serve my clients.

Then, a light bulb went on.

There IS something that I wish I did A LOT sooner in my business.

This thing comes naturally to me and I do it regularly now.

I show my clients how to do this with authenticity and know for certain this one practice is the core driver for consistent cash flow in my business. Read More

5 simple steps for huge momentum #mejane

Nadine Nicholson - Wednesday, June 10, 2015

I have a hunch.

There’s probably something on your plate that you KNOW you need to do that would make a BIG difference in your business.

BUT, whenever you try to focus on it, something always seems to get in the way — and you get pulled off track by everything else on your plate

And, then a nagging feeling keeps gnawing at you, the one that says ...

Enough thinking about it. Just get ‘er done already.

Can you relate?

Last year, I did an experiment with some clients taking my signature group program.

I could see that each one had something she knew she needed to do — something that would make a big difference in her business. Read More
